For the first time, the Mini Tempest will feature a flipper tab option similar to other SBD models like the Typhoon, while also staying true to it’s roots via the front flipper original. I ordered the Regular Flipper Bowie variant, and could not be happier with both the knife I received and with Kaviso's service. The knife is excellent, and their communication with me has won me over - would definitely shop with them again. To all else out there who are wise enough to grab one of these with the S90V blade - congratulations, you made a wise choice.
One of my favorite knives of all time. Brian nadeau dosent miss! Sold one a long time ago and instantly regretted it kaviso is awesome with what they do for the community. Same day shipping! One small complaint is the knife box was just put in a bag mailer no extra protection but it made it no issues
Perfect detent, came sharp af
At an eye-watering $425, one might wonder what kind of nutcase would spend that amount of money on a knife.
As one of those nutcases, I can say that this may be one of the best production knives in the world at this price point, even if you won't get any more utility out of your knife than you would out of a $50 one. It has a sleek, compact design, but the slim handle hides a surprising amount of blade. This particular front flipper iteration has the strongest detent, which makes for a crisper break when flipping than previous Mini Tempests. If your flipping knife is only going to have one method of deployment, it better be perfect. And the Mini Tempest has perfect front-flipper action (unfortunately, using the fuller in the blade to reverse flick the knife is possible, but not very comfortable).
If you're a front flipper type of person, you need this knife. It's arguably the best one ever designed.
